Our WoW Forever addon is out: talent guides, a dungeon quest helper and a free download

The addon is finished enough to hand over. WoW Forever Builds 1.3.3 is out, it is free, and you can download it right now.

Download WoW Forever Builds 1.3.3 — unzip into World of Warcraft\_classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns\ so you get a WoWForeverBuilds folder with WoWForeverBuilds.toc inside it.

It is built for WoW Forever, nothing is sent anywhere, and every piece of data it needs ships inside it: it only reads your own character and quest log.

Talent guides in your talent window

Every leveling and endgame build on this site is inside the addon. Pick one with /wfb guide list, and the talent window does the rest:

• the next talent glows, and pulses while you have a point to spend;
• talents the guide still wants show the level of their next point, the ones it never takes show a red x;
• a panel beside the window lists the whole order, level by level;
• on level up, chat tells you what to take, and warns you if you spend a point off the guide.

The Dungeon Quest helper

This is the part that grew the most. Open the group finder and a panel opens beside it, with a Quest helper button above the window to show and hide it. It follows what you do: queue for a dungeon, tick one in the finder, or walk into one, and it switches to that dungeon.

For every dungeon it lists the quests with where you pick them up, the level you can pick them up at, the experience they pay, whether they can be shared, and how far along you are. Beyond that:

• quests are split into what you still have to do, what you have finished, and the other faction’s quests, each marked [A], [H] or [A/H];
• quests that cannot be shared say why — an item starts them, or they follow another quest;
• steps that happen inside the dungeon are marked: given inside, drops inside, hand in inside, do inside, or at the entrance;
• click a quest and you get the whole chain: where to pick it up, what it asks for, who takes it, every step with your progress;
• the earlier questline that unlocks a chain is listed above it, and those quests are marked [D] or [D>] in your quest log, so you know a dungeon chain is waiting at the end of them;
• running totals show what the quests in your log are worth, what the dungeon still owes you, and the full total.

One honest note on those XP numbers: they come from earlier versions of the game, and the panel says so. Forever’s values are still moving — dungeon experience was cut and pushed into quests during the beta — so we are collecting the real figures and will replace the estimates as they land.

Character export

/wfb opens a window with a single line: name, realm, class, race, faction, level, talent points per tree, professions, and whether you are on a Hardcore realm. Copy it, paste it on My characters, and your character is on the site. Nothing leaves your computer until you paste it yourself.

CurseForge is coming — stay tuned

The CurseForge listing is submitted and waiting on their moderation queue. As soon as it is approved you will be able to install and update the addon straight from the CurseForge app, and every future version will land there automatically.

Until then, grab the zip from GitHub. The source is public under the MIT licence, so you can read every line of it before you run it.
