Hall of Thanes

Hall of Thanes is the first new WoW Forever dungeon on the level chart, open from level 13 alongside Ragefire Chasm. Blizzard's preview places it in royal burial chambers beneath Ironforge, where intruders have disturbed the tombs. That makes it the closest first dungeon for dwarf and gnome characters, and its 13–18 band is a good place to learn a group's pull rhythm before The Deadmines.

Quest prep by faction

Most of these are picked up at the door, but the one that ends on King Magni starts far away in Dun Morogh. Collect that chain before you walk down, or you will make the trip twice.

  • Finding the entrance: from The Great Forge, face The High Seat and take the cobwebbed corridor down on your left, at roughly 43.5, 52.0.
  • Mind the lava under the approach bridge. Beta players have fallen in and been stuck there.
  • This is an Alliance-side dungeon. Horde characters can reach it, but only the long way round.

Where to pick them up

  1. Thom Filch, by the bridge at the entrance: Important Heirlooms.
  2. Afadra Dunwall, the lorekeeper up the stairs past that corridor: The Restless Dead.
  3. Earthseer Farsen in Dun Morogh (64.8, 58.5) starts the chain that ends in Old Ironforge Incursion.
  4. An Ancient Grudge is taken at the dungeon itself, alongside the other entrance quests.

Do this first

  • Do the Dun Morogh breadcrumb first. Farsen sends you to kill Dark Iron Spies around 76.7, 60.7; one drops a map that sends you back to him for Old Ironforge Incursion.
  • That quest wants Durgen Dirgehammer's head, the last boss, and is turned in to King Magni in Ironforge.

1 quest cannot be shared: an item starts it, so everyone in the group has to loot their own. 1 quest needs an earlier quest, so a party share fails for anyone who has not done it.
