WoW Forever goes live at one moment worldwide: November 4, 3:00 pm PST

Blizzard has confirmed a single global launch moment for WoW Forever: November 4 at 3:00 pm PST, with no regional stagger. For Europe that is 11:00 pm GMT on the 4th and midnight in Central Europe, so most of the continent starts on November 5. The client is already downloadable, name reservation runs to November 3, and Blizzard has clarified its gold policy: transfer gold directly between the players involved.

Blizzard rolled back its own racial rework a week before launch, and kept one change
Nine days before launch Blizzard published a final racial pass that partly reverses its own October rework. Orc Savage and Dwarf Earth Fury are removed, Command returns for Orc pets, and Artisan's Precision takes the Dwarf slot. Human Ruthless halves to 1% crit while The Human Spirit doubles to 10%, Tauren Plainsrunning doubles per stack but loses its mounted bonus, and the Skyborne cooldowns are cut with a new hour-long buff for using them at the right spot.

Name reservation opens October 27, and you only get three characters for the whole week
Early Name Reservation for WoW Forever opens on October 27 and runs until November 3. Europe starts at 18:00 CET and North America at 1:00 p.m. PDT on the 27th, with Korea and Taiwan at 07:00 local on the 28th. The catch most people will hit is the cap: three characters in total across every ruleset for the whole period, so two on a PvP ruleset leaves you one anywhere else. It needs one of the paid upgrades, and it applies only to the WoW account the purchase was made for.

Blizzard changed its mind: Roleplay-PvP is in WoW Forever at launch
Blizzard has reversed its position on Roleplay-PvP. On the podcast the team described its concerns about adding the ruleset and said it was still discussing it internally, and days later announced it is going for it. RP-PvP will be in WoW Forever at the November 4 launch, and Blizzard is working to make it selectable during Early Name Reservation from October 27. The lineup is now Normal, PvP, Roleplaying, Roleplay-PvP and Hardcore.

You can pre-install WoW Forever now, and there is a fix for the greyed-out Install button
The WoW Forever client is downloadable ahead of the November 4 launch: Blizzard own version service shows the retail product serving build 1.60.1.70532. The official route is the Game Version menu above the Play button in the Battle.net app. Plenty of players see a dead Install button, and the fixes doing the rounds are a launcher command line, switching to the WoW account the purchase sits on, and turning off the new layout.

The change log missed two things: dying costs half as much, and two sets were reset to level 1
Blizzard first change log in a week was detailed, but the files carry changes it does not mention. The spirit healer confirmation text now says your gear takes 25% durability damage instead of 50%, halving the cost of taking the easy way back. Sixty-six items had their quality changed, and the striking case is the Shen dorei Magister and Peacekeeper sets: twenty pieces, all dropped from epic to common and reset to item level 1.

The Horde can walk into Dalaran, and the key is a quest a Forsaken magus gives you
The City of Dalaran dungeon went live for testing in the October 8 build, and it comes with something the Horde has never had: safe passage into Dalaran. The route runs through the dungeon and a sewer key, after which guards who should be hostile stand down. The key is in the beta files as an uncommon, bind-on-pickup item, and a quest recorded in game asks you to bring it to Magus Wordeen Voidglare in Tarren Mill, which puts the Horde half of this on Forsaken ground in Hillsbrad.

Forever was pitched internally as four new dungeons. The files now hold ten
Associate production director Clay Stone has described how far WoW Forever drifted from its first internal pitch: four new dungeons, then six, then nine, as appetite inside Blizzard grew. The beta client now carries ten new dungeons, nine new zones and two raids. He traces the change of direction to Hardcore and Season of Discovery, plus one specific lesson: players skipped Season of Discovery because the word season made it sound temporary.

Dungeon kill XP was paying out at the group's highest level, and that bug is being fixed
Three weeks of argument about dungeon experience got its first developer answer, and it came with a bug nobody outside Blizzard had identified. Kill XP inside dungeons was awarded from the highest-level character in the group, so a level 20 running Deadmines alongside a level 25 earned very little per kill. That is being fixed so your own level decides your XP, and base kill XP rises 20% on top of it. Blizzard also drew a line: dungeon cleaving will not be the optimal route.

WoW Forever's PvP ranks run to 14, with a weekly cap and epics built from upgrade tokens
When we first wrote about Forever PvP in September, Blizzard had not shared rank thresholds, weekly caps or whether Honor decays. Two of those are now answered. Progression splits into Honor, the currency, and Rank Points, which carry you through the original fourteen ranks to High Warlord or Grand Marshal, with a weekly cap. Honor buys a blue set, and each epic piece is that blue piece plus an Emboldened Seal with its own rank requirement.

Darkspear Islands is a 15v15 with four capture points, a flag, and two reputation tracks
The Darkspear Islands battleground now has its details. It is 15 against 15, open from level 30 to 60, set off the coast of Dustwallow Marsh, and won by the first team to 2,000 points. Four capture points feed those points, and the more your team holds the faster they come in. A flag in the middle can be carried to any base you have already captured for extra points. Both factions get a reputation track, Marks of Honor turn-ins, and a questline at Exalted ending in an exclusive tabard.

The Cozy Sleeping Bag is a questline now, and the beta is arguing about whether it should exist
The 3% experience bag that beta testers mapped two weeks ago is now a questline with its own problems: a Horde route that runs past hostile guards, a quest item players cannot use at level 23, and a bag that stays behind when the game moves you to another layer while the cooldown keeps running.
