Which WoW Forever Class Should I Play?
9 classes, 27 specs and a new race make the first character a big decision. Answer 9 questions about how you like to play and the quiz suggests a class and spec, two alternatives from other classes and a race to consider, with links to the class guide, talent calculator and leveling guides.
Which role do you want to play in dungeons and raids?
How the quiz picks your class
Every answer adds or removes points for each of the 27 specs, and the highest total wins. Ties keep the site's class order, so the same answers always give the same result. The two alternatives are the best specs from two other classes.
The 9 questions and how they score
1. Which role do you want to play in dungeons and raids?
Answers: Tank · Healer · Damage · No preference
+6 for specs commonly played in that role. The biggest single weight, because role decides your group life.
2. Do you prefer fighting up close or from a distance?
Answers: Up close · From range · No preference
+3 for specs that fight at the range you picked.
3. What matters more to you on the way to 60?
Answers: Leveling fast and safely on my own · Being wanted in dungeons and groups · A bit of both
Solo: up to +4.5 for strong Classic solo levelers. Group: up to +4.5 for buffs, utility and in-demand roles. Both: half of each.
4. Do you want a permanent pet or demon fighting with you?
Answers: Yes, I want a companion · No, I want to fight alone · I don't mind
Yes: up to +4.5 for Hunters and Warlocks. No: the same amount taken away.
5. How do you feel about stealth?
Answers: I love sneaking and ambushes · Not for me · I don't mind
Yes: up to +4.5 for Rogues and Feral Druids. No: up to −3 for the same specs.
6. How many buttons do you want to juggle?
Answers: Keep it simple · Somewhere in the middle · Lots, I like mastering a class
Simple: +3 for the most straightforward specs. Middle: +2 for mid-complexity specs. Lots: +3 for the most demanding specs.
7. How much PvP do you plan to play?
Answers: A lot · Some · Little or none
A lot: up to +4.5 for specs with strong Classic PvP tools. Some: up to +1.5. None: no change.
8. Do you want to switch between roles later?
Answers: Yes, I want options · No, I'll master one job · No preference
Options: up to +4.5 for hybrid classes (Druid most, then Paladin, Priest and Shaman). One job: up to +2.25 for pure damage classes.
9. Do you already have a faction or race in mind?
Answers: Alliance · Horde · Skyborne · No preference
Skyborne: +2 for the classes Skyborne can play and −10 for Priest, Paladin and Warlock, which they cannot. Alliance and Horde do not change the score, because every class is available on both factions in WoW Forever; they only pick the race suggestion.

FAQ
Is the quiz based on WoW Forever data?
No. WoW Forever has not launched and class balance has not been announced, so the quiz scores each spec by how it was designed in Classic 1.12: its role, range, pet, stealth, solo and group strengths. The weights are our editorial judgment, and they are listed in full on this page.
Which classes can tank or heal?
Tanks: Warrior, Paladin and Druid. Healers: Paladin, Priest, Shaman and Druid. Every other spec plays as damage. Picking a role in the quiz is the strongest single answer, so you will always get a spec that can fill it.
Can I play every class on both factions?
Yes, according to the race data the talent calculator uses. Undead Paladins give the Horde Paladins and Dwarf Shamans give the Alliance Shamans, and Druids can be Night Elf or Skyborne for the Alliance and Tauren or Skyborne for the Horde. That is why picking Alliance or Horde only changes the race suggestion, not your class. See best race by class.
What classes can the Skyborne play?
Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, Shaman, Mage and Druid. Horde Skyborne can be Shamans and Alliance Skyborne can be Mages; the other classes are open on both factions. Skyborne cannot be Paladin, Priest and Warlock, so picking Skyborne in the quiz rules those classes out. Read more on the Skyborne race page.
What is the best class for leveling?
In Classic 1.12, Hunter and Mage were the fastest safe solo levelers, Paladin was the safest melee class and Warrior was the hardest alone. Whether that holds in WoW Forever is not confirmed. The best leveling class page tracks community votes next to the Classic reference.
How do I share my result?
When you finish, the page address changes to a result link (for example /classes/quiz?r=mage-frost). Use the share buttons or copy the address; anyone who opens it sees your class and spec and can take the quiz themselves.
