Classic dungeon in WoW Forever

Maraudon

Maraudon is a 48–54 dungeon in Desolace and, in Classic, the tomb of Zaetar, where Princess Theradras rules over corrupted elementals and centaur. The Classic dungeon splits into separate wings before its inner halls, so agree on the route before you zone in. It overlaps Alcaz Prison and leads into the Sunken Temple band.

Before you go: getting there, keys and prep

The beta stopped at level 30, so nobody has run Maraudon in WoW Forever yet. Each line says where it comes from: the final beta client (1.60.1.70532), Blizzard, or how it worked in Classic.

How to get there

  • Classic fallback Maraudon opens from a cave in western Desolace. In Classic the Horde fly to Shadowprey Village and the Alliance to Nijel's Point. Warcraft Wiki

Prep checklist

  • Classic fallback In Classic, the Scepter of Celebras (reward from a Celebras the Redeemed quest inside) opens a portal at the first khan's spot outside the instance that drops you at the halfway point, saving the walk to Princess Theradras. Warcraft Wiki
  • Datamined Dungeon enemies hit harder than in Classic: the client multiplies creature melee and spell damage by 1.2 in every dungeon, while their health stays the same. Expect more incoming damage per pull than old Classic numbers suggest. Daybreak Forever datamine

Did Forever change the loot here?

Datamined

Not the stats, as far as the client shows. We checked all 34 items on the Classic drop list for Maraudon against build 1.60.1.70707, and none of them has new stats. Forever's loot tables are server side, so whether they still drop here, and how often, is unknown until launch.

Maraudon quests by faction (Classic list)

Classic fallback

Classic fallback, not seen in the beta. The beta stopped at level 30, so no Maraudon quest has shown up in the Forever data yet. This is the original Classic list, split by faction: givers, levels and chains may change in Forever, and the list is replaced by Forever data once players run the dungeon.

Ordered by pick-up level, chains in step order. "Starts" is the giver's Classic spawn point; quests that show "inside the dungeon" are handed out past the portal.

Alliance8 quests

  1. Shadowshard FragmentsLv 38+

    Collect 10 Shadowshard Fragments from Maraudon and return them to Archmage Tervosh in Theramore on the coast of Dustwallow Marsh.

    Starts: Archmage Tervosh, Dustwallow Marsh (66.4, 49.3). 3,450 XP in Classic.

  2. The Pariah's Instructions(both factions)Lv 39+

    Read the Pariah's Instructions. Afterwards, obtain the Amulet of Union from Maraudon and return it to the Centaur Pariah in southern Desolace.

    Starts from The Pariah's Instructions, so everyone loots their own. 5,450 XP in Classic.

  3. The Scepter of Celebras(both factions)Lv 41+

    Assist Celebras the Redeemed while he creates the Scepter of Celebras. Speak with him when the ritual is complete.

    Starts: Celebras the Redeemed. Needs Legends of Maraudon first. Step 2 of 2. 5,700 XP in Classic.

  4. Twisted Evils(both factions)Lv 41+

    Collect 15 Theradric Crystal Carvings for Willow in Desolace.

    Starts: Willow, Desolace (62.2, 39.6). 5,250 XP in Classic.

  5. Vyletongue CorruptionLv 41+

    Fill the Coated Cerulean Vial at the orange crystal pool in Maraudon. Use the Filled Cerulean Vial on the Vylestem Vines to force the corrupted Noxxious Scion to emerge. Heal 8 plants by killing these Noxxious Scion, then return to Talendria in Nijel's Point.

    Starts from Coated Cerulean Vial, so everyone loots their own. 5,250 XP in Classic.

  6. Legends of Maraudon(both factions)Lv 41+

    Recover the two parts of the Scepter of Celebras: the Celebrian Rod and the Celebrian Diamond. Find a way to speak with Celebras.

    Starts: Cavindra, Desolace (32.1, 64.0). Turn in to Celebras the Redeemed. 3,400 XP in Classic.

  7. Corruption of Earth and SeedLv 45+

    Slay Princess Theradras and return to Keeper Marandis at Nijel's Point in Desolace.

    Starts: Keeper Marandis, Desolace (63.8, 10.7). 6,100 XP in Classic.

  8. Seed of Life(both factions)Lv 45+

    Seek out Remulos in Moonglade and give him the Seed of Life.

    Starts from Seed of Life, so everyone loots their own. Turn in to Keeper Remulos. 6,100 XP in Classic.
