WoW Forever Mount Cost and Riding Levels
Your first mount costs 100 gold at level 40: Apprentice Riding (60% speed) with a mount of your race included. Epic riding costs1,000 gold at level 60 (Journeyman Riding, 100% speed). Prices are the same for Alliance and Horde, and there is no flying.

- Both factions pay the same. Alliance: Human (horse), Dwarf (ram), Gnome (mechanostrider), Night Elf (saber), Skyborne (galestrider). Horde: Orc (wolf), Troll (raptor), Tauren (kodo), Undead (skeletal horse), Skyborne (galestrider).
- Discounts: Honored with your home faction takes 10% off training and your race's mounts; Bartering (Legacy) up to 10% off vendor mounts only. Beta players paid 900 to 960 g for Journeyman Riding. Method · MMOnster

- What is confirmed how: level gates and vendor prices are in the game client's mount items; training prices are server-side, so they come from beta players' reports; Blizzard has only stated the model (gold moves into training, which grants a mount). Not known yet: the trainer's own level requirement and whether launch prices match the beta.
What Blizzard has confirmed
- Official Riding uses the Burning Crusade-style cost model: the gold you used to pay up front for a mount moves into riding training, and you are granted a mount when you learn the riding skill. Blizzard Entertainment

Prices are before discounts. Blizzard Watch quotes the level 60 epic mount as 1,000 gold, Icy Veins splits the same total into 100 gold training and a 900 gold mount.
Epic mount cost with reputation discounts

- PvP rank 3 takes off another 10%, for a maximum discount of 20%. Mounts are Bind on Equip, so a friend with the discount could buy one for you. Icy Veins · Blizzard Watch
With both discounts the level 40 total drops from 100 to 80 gold and the level 60 total from 1,000 to 800 gold. The reputation side is the one you can plan for while leveling: see the reputation guide for raising your home city to Honored.
Racial mounts and the Exalted rule
- Each race learns its own riding skill (horse, ram, tiger, mechanostrider, wolf, kodo, raptor, skeletal horse) from a trainer of that race, and the matching vendor stands next to the trainer. Blizzard Watch · Icy Veins

Paladin and Warlock class mounts
Paladins and Warlocks skipped the gold cost entirely: both classes earned their mounts from quests. Classic Paladins were Alliance only.

Saving gold for your first mount
- Pick up a gathering profession early. Herbs, ore and leather sell while you level; compare them on the professions page.
- Get your home city to Honored before you train, since in Classic that alone took 10% off the whole purchase.
- If you plan Legacy perks for an alt, Bartering lowers vendor prices; it is not known yet whether riding trainers count.
- Paladins and Warlocks can spend their gold elsewhere if the free class mount quests stay the same.

What level do you get a mount in WoW Forever?
Level 40 for Apprentice Riding (60% speed) and level 60 for Journeyman Riding (100% speed). The mounts in the final beta client are gated at those levels and beta players report the same, though Blizzard has not published a riding table.
How much does a mount cost in WoW Forever?
Beta players report 100 gold for Apprentice Riding at level 40, mount of your race included, and 1,000 gold for Journeyman Riding at 60. Extra mounts from your race's vendor cost 20 gold (60%) and 200 gold (100%) in the client data. Honored reputation takes 10% off.
Are there flying mounts in WoW Forever?
No. Blizzard lists no flying mounts and no level scaling among the principles for WoW Forever.
Can I ride the Cerulean Prideclaw at level 1?
No. The Prideclaw from the Skyborne packs is a ground mount, and Blizzard says you still need to buy the riding skill in game before you can use it.
