Power spikes while leveling in WoW Forever
Levels come from quests and kills, but how fast those go depends on what you pick up between them. Forever hides a lot of that off the main path: books that pay out rings, a sleeping bag worth a five-zone trip, camp buffs that copy class buffs, and Legacy perks that move your talents five levels earlier. This is the list, in the order you can reach it.

WoW Forever is not out yet. Anything below, including the confirmed lines, can change at launch on November 4.
If you only do five things
- Eat cooked food before every session. Every well-fed food adds 5% to kill experience.
- Spend your first Legacy Points on Talented, for talent points from level 5.
- Read every book you walk past. Twenty of them buy an item level 35 ring.
- Pick up the blue dungeon quest rewards on your way through each instance.
- Save gold for riding at 40. It is the biggest speed spike of the climb.
The timeline, level by level
Cook and eat before every long session
DataminedHow: Any cooked food with a well-fed effect. Your own Cooking, or bought from players.
Why it matters: Every nutritious food in the files carries a shared Well Fed XP Boost: 5% more experience from kills while you are well fed. 107 food items have it, so the cheapest food you can cook counts. Daybreak Forever datamine
A gathering profession from a starting-zone book
ReportedHow: Human starting area: a Nibbled-On Book drops from the kobolds near Northshire Abbey and starts an eight-quest chain for Brother Paxton.
Why it matters: The chain ends with a choice of three manuals that teach Mining, Skinning or Herbalism on the spot, and the quests plus the extra kobold kills carry a Human past level 6 before leaving the area. All Things How · Daybreak Forever datamine
Rest at a campfire once
DataminedHow: The starting-zone quest The Great Outdoors asks you to sit at a Basic Campfire until a buff called Boosted Rest lands.
Why it matters: It is the first taste of the camping system. It leads into 87 Camping 101 quests across twelve professions, which teach your first camp feature once you have some skill. Daybreak Forever datamine
Talented, if your account has Legacy Points
DataminedHow: Spend Legacy Points in the Adventure tree. Talented sits behind one rank of Well Rested.
Why it matters: Five ranks of Talented give talent points every level from 5 instead of 10. Your first real build arrives five levels early, the biggest single leveling spike in the Legacy tree. Daybreak Forever datamine
Your profession's first camp feature
ReportedHow: Free from the Camping 101 quest for your profession, or from any trainer, once you reach 20 skill.
Why it matters: Each profession's first feature is a group buff at camp, most of them standing in for a class buff. A Fish Bowl, Lodestone or First Aid Kit covers for Kings, Might or Fortitude when nobody in the group has them. Warcraft Tavern · Daybreak Forever datamine
Hidden library, first 10 books
DataminedHow: Read the hidden books scattered around the world. The client lists all 40 titles but no locations.
Why it matters: Ten books unlock an item level 23 necklace, Scholarly Pendant (3 Stamina, 2 Spirit) or Erudite's Amulet (3 Stamina, 2 Agility). Small, but a neck slot is usually empty that early. Daybreak Forever datamine
Cozy Sleeping Bag
ReportedHow: A five-zone quest chain through Westfall, The Barrens, Stonetalon Mountains, Loch Modan and a Hillsbrad jumping puzzle. Its level requirement is not in the sources.
Why it matters: Resting in the bag adds 1% experience per minute up to 3%, and it stacks with the 5% from food. The chain also pays out a bag and a food item. Testers report the bag is left behind and its cooldown keeps running if you change layer. YouTube (OSWguild) · Blizzard forums (player thread)
The Deadmines mining axe
ReportedHow: Drops from an enemy in the Deadmines.
Why it matters: It mines ore without the Mining profession, roughly 30 times before it is used up, which frees a profession slot on a character who wants ore. PC Gamer
Coldflame Saber (Mage)
DataminedHow: Shadowfang Keep. A Mage-only sword that requires level 21.
Why it matters: Its melee attacks deal 98 extra Fire damage to frozen targets, so a Mage gets paid for Frost Nova plus a swing instead of carrying a stat stick. Daybreak Forever datamine · PC Gamer
Hidden library, 20 books
DataminedHow: Keep reading. Twenty books is the second reward tier.
Why it matters: Two item level 35 rings: Philanthropist's Ring (5 Intellect, 10 Spell Power) for casters and Field Researcher's Loop (7 Stamina, 7 Agility) for everyone else. A ring that good in your twenties is a real upgrade. Daybreak Forever datamine
Riding
DataminedHow: The new mounts in the files need level 40 for the 60% versions, at 20 gold, and level 60 for the 100% versions, at 200 gold.
Why it matters: The 60% mount is the biggest speed spike of the whole climb. Blizzard moved the cost into riding training, which gives you a mount when you learn it, and that training price is not in the files yet. Daybreak Forever datamine · Blizzard Entertainment
Hidden library, the top tiers
DataminedHow: More books. The turn-in count for the last two reward groups is not in the client.
Why it matters: Item level 58 rewards: Museum Keeper's Chain or Artifact Seeker's Pendant for the neck, then Researcher's Night Light, Antique Bulwark or Crest of Elucidation for the off-hand. Daybreak Forever datamine
Blue quest rewards by level
19 dungeon quests in the beta data reward a rare (blue) item. Pick them up in the zone before you zone in, because the quest is where most of a run's value now sits.
Datamined Quest levels and rewards come from the beta client's quest data. Only dungeon quests are in it so far, which is why the list stops where the data does. WoW Forever Builds

Legacy Points: the first three picks
Legacy Points are account-wide and arrive one Challenge at a time, so the order matters more than the finished build. For a solo character the opener is the same for every class:
| Step | Node | Points (total) | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Well Restedto rank 1 | 1 (1) | Only one point here for now — it is the prerequisite for Talented, and rested experience is worth having while you are at it. |
| 2 | Talentedto rank 5 | 5 (6) | The strongest leveling node in the tree: talent points from level 5 instead of 10, so you reach your first real build five levels sooner. |
| 3 | Thrill of Adventureto rank 5 | 5 (11) | 5% of your health and mana back on every killing blow. Solo questing is mostly downtime between fights, and this is the node that removes it. It does nothing in dungeons, raids or battlegrounds. |
Datamined Node names, ranks and effects are the beta client's Legacy tree; the order is our recommendation for a solo character. Daybreak Forever datamine A character can spend at most 16 points.
The rest of the order differs by class and by how you level. Every leveling guide carries its own, and theLegacy planner lets you try your own.
Camp buffs from your professions
Every profession's first camp feature at 20 skill. Sitting at camp with a mixed group stacks several of these at once.

|---|---|---|---|
| Fishing | Fish Bowl | 8% increased stats | Blessing of Kings |
| Mining | Lodestone | 90 melee Attack Power | Blessing of Might |
| First Aid | First Aid Kit | 56 Stamina | Power Word: Fortitude |

Trainer ranks and gold
- Classic fallback Classic trainers offered new spells and ranks every other level, at even levels. If you can only afford some, buy the rank of the spell you cast most and skip the ones you rarely press. Warcraft Wiki
- Datamined Forever's rank levels and trainer prices are not in the datamine, so we cannot list the breakpoints for each class yet. Daybreak Forever datamine
- Classic fallback Classic riding cost 20 gold to train and 80 gold for the mount at 40. Plan for something in that range until Forever's training price is known. Icy Veins
Every class's Forever abilities, new talents and set bonuses are on the abilities pages; the gold guide covers paying for all of it.
Still unknown
- Where any of the 40 library books lie, and how many books the top two reward tiers need.
- The level each Forever class learns each rank, and what trainers charge for it.
- The riding training price at 40 and 60.
- Whether the camp buffs scale with level or are flat at every level.
- Whether the mining axe and the Cozy Sleeping Bag chain are unchanged in the launch build. Both were tester finds during the beta.

Leveling power spikes FAQ
What is the biggest power spike while leveling in WoW Forever?
Riding at 40 for speed, and Talented in the Legacy tree for strength: five ranks give talent points from level 5 instead of 10. For gear, the hidden library's 20-book rings and the blue dungeon quest rewards are the stand-outs.
Do camp buffs stack with class buffs?
No. Each first-tier camp feature is marked as mutually exclusive with the class buff it copies, so a Fish Bowl does not stack with Blessing of Kings and a First Aid Kit does not stack with Power Word: Fortitude.
Does the Cozy Sleeping Bag stack with food?
Yes, as testers report it. The bag adds up to 3% experience while resting and the well-fed food buff adds 5% to kill experience, so together they are worth about 8%.
When should I start the hidden library?
From the first book you see. The first reward is at 10 books and the second, a pair of item level 35 rings, at 20. The client does not list book locations, so read every one you walk past.
