WoW Forever PvP: a 14-rank Honor track every patch and a new Darkspear Islands battleground

PvP players now know what they are working toward in World of Warcraft: Forever. In an interview with Kotaku, lead Classic designer Tim Jones described a new Honor progression and the first new battleground.

Rank 14 in every patch cycle

The original rank system was a weekly race against everyone else on your realm, and rank 14 took months of nonstop play. Forever changes the frame:

• You can reach rank 14 within each patch cycle, so the track restarts with new content instead of running forever.
• Honor comes from battlegrounds and other PvP activities.
• Rewards include cosmetics and PvP armor with stats.

Blizzard has not shared rank thresholds, weekly caps or whether Honor decays. Until those numbers appear, all we know is that the climb is tied to patches instead of an endless ladder.

Darkspear Islands

The new battleground is Darkspear Islands, set on the troll isles off the coast of Kalimdor. It is a 15 vs 15 map with control points and flag captures in the style of Arathi Basin, and it joins the original battlegrounds rather than replacing them. Level brackets and the date it opens are still to be announced.

What it means for your character
