WoW Forever raid tier sets datamined: first look at Hyjal armor for every class

New raid armor models for Druid, Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock and Warrior were found in WoW Forever files. They are all tagged Hyjal, the first 20-player raid, so they will likely be tier sets with set bonuses. No item stats exist yet.

The first raid tier armor for World of Warcraft: Forever has turned up in the game files. Wowhead datamined new armor appearances for all nine classes, and every set is tagged Hyjal. That is the name of the first 20-player raid planned for WoW Forever.

What was found

There is one new set for each class:

  • Druid
  • Hunter
  • Mage
  • Paladin
  • Priest
  • Rogue
  • Shaman
  • Warlock
  • Warrior

Right now these are only appearances. No item entries are linked to the models yet. That means there are no stats, no item names and no set bonuses to look at so far.

Will they be real tier sets?

Probably. Because every set carries the Hyjal tag, Wowhead expects them to work like classic tier gear, with bonuses for wearing two, four or more pieces. Blizzard has not confirmed any bonuses, so treat this as an educated guess until the items show up in a later beta build.

If the sets do come with bonuses, they could change which talent builds are best at the start of raiding. We will update our talent builds once real numbers appear.

HD and SD versions

Each set exists twice:

  • HD models for the updated character models.
  • SD models for players who keep the original look. These have a slightly lower polygon count, but in the preview shots the two versions look almost the same.

So you should get the same raid look whichever model setting you use.

Already seen at BlizzCon

Some of these sets are not totally new. A few of them were shown during BlizzCon, where Blizzard presented them as gear from the Hyjal endgame raid. The datamine now shows the full line-up for every class.

What happens next

Datamined files can change before launch. Look for these things in upcoming beta builds:

  • item names and armor stats for each piece
  • set bonuses, and how many pieces you need
  • which Hyjal bosses drop which parts

You can see screenshots of every set, in HD and SD, in the original Wowhead report linked below.
