WoW Forever Mining Leveling Guide: 1 to 300
Mining feeds two crafts and levels two ways: mining veins and smelting bars. Forever adds Junior Mining Trainers in the starting areas, a quest manual for Humans, faster respawns that change how caves feel, and two new bars at the top end. The route below is the one testers used in the beta, with the high zones still Classic until launch.

The short version
- Reported New Junior Mining Trainers stand in the starting areas, but they do not teach Journeyman. For that, visit a full trainer at 50 skill. wow-professions.com
- Reported Mobs respawn much faster in Forever, so outlevel the cave you mine by a good margin or they will reappear on top of you. wow-professions.com

Your skill stops at 75, 150 and 225 until you learn the next rank, so train before you craft past the cap.
Mining route by skill
Smelting gives points too. If you have gold, buy Copper and Tin ore and smelt your way to about 105 before you go out; after that, mine.

Every camp feature needs a campfire nearby and they all share one 60-minute cooldown. Power spikes while leveling covers which camp buffs matter most.

There are no Forever prices yet. These notes describe the Classic economy and are marked as such until launch data exists.

Yes, smelting gives skill. Buying Copper and Tin ore and smelting to about 105 is the quick start testers used, before mining Tin and Iron.
What are Azerothium and Heavy Thorium?
Two new bars in the Forever client: Azerothium is smelted at 275 from Pitchblende and Coal, Heavy Thorium at 300 from Heavy Thorium Ore.
