WoW Forever Tailoring Leveling Guide: 1 to 300
Tailoring needs no gathering profession because cloth drops from humanoids you kill anyway. In Forever the catch is the upper half: like Leatherworking, many skill ranges moved and familiar recipes go grey well before they used to. The path below shows the cloth in raw form, bolts already broken down, so you know how much to hoard.
Checked against the final beta datamine, build 1.60.1.70532, on . Overview and perks:Tailoring page; every recipe: Tailoring recipes.

Tailoring 1-300 path
Bolts are made on the way, so the cloth totals include them. The big jumps are Silk around 150 and Runecloth past 225; start banking Runecloth early, because the last stretch eats it by the hundred.

What Forever changes for Tailoring
- Datamined Tailoring's first camp feature is a Faction Banner, with separate Horde and Alliance versions in the files. Daybreak Forever datamine
- Datamined Camping 101: Tailoring has two versions in the files, one naming Uthrar Threx in Ironforge and one naming Snang in Orgrimmar. Daybreak Forever datamine
- Reported The beta stopped characters at level 30, so nobody could train Artisan or test anything past 225 skill. Everything above 225 is untested in Forever. wow-professions.com
- Datamined A Tailoring Certification costs 1,000 Merchant's Favor. Using it unlocks the title "the Tailor" for every character on your account, but a character needs 300 Tailoring to show it. Daybreak Forever datamine
Tailoring camp features
| Feature | Skill | Materials | Learned from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Faction Banner | 20 | 1× Bolt of Linen Cloth, 1× Coarse Thread | Trainer |
| Spinning Wheel | 140 | 2× Simple Wood, 5× Bolt of Silk Cloth, 3× Fine Thread | Blueprint: Spinning Wheel |
| Loom | 300 | 1× Bottled Screams, 4× Bolt of Runecloth, 4× Simple Wood | Blueprint: Loom |
- Datamined Faction Banner: 32 Spirit for members of your faction sitting nearby. It does not stack with Divine Spirit. Daybreak Forever datamine
- Datamined Spinning Wheel: makes certain reagents and keeps the Banner buff. Its blueprint needs 2 Simple Wood, 5 Bolts of Silk Cloth and 3 Fine Thread. Daybreak Forever datamine
- Datamined Loom: a station some recipes require, powered by Bottled Screams. Daybreak Forever datamine
Every camp feature needs a campfire nearby and they all share one 60-minute cooldown. Power spikes while leveling covers which camp buffs matter most.
Legacy perks that help

Making gold with Tailoring
There are no Forever prices yet. These notes describe the Classic economy and are marked as such until launch data exists.
- Classic fallback In Classic, Mooncloth could only be made once every few days per tailor, which made it the dependable tailoring income. Our path leaves it out, like every cooldown craft. Warcraft Wiki

How this path is built
- Every recipe, reagent and skill colour comes from the Tailoring data in the beta client, so the path follows Forever's thresholds, not Classic's.
- A program tries every recipe at every skill point and keeps the chain that uses the fewest raw materials. Crafted parts are broken down into what they are made of; finished goods and scarce drops count extra.
- Trainer recipes win over recipe items, and recipe items that are new in Forever count extra because nobody has confirmed where they come from.
- The client does not say when a trainer recipe can be learned, so we count such a recipe from the skill where it turns yellow. You can often learn it a little earlier.
- Camp features, cooldown crafts such as transmutes, faction-only recipes and recipes with rare reagents are left out.
Still unknown
- Where most of the new Tailoring patterns come from.
- What the Spinning Wheel makes, and whether Mooncloth keeps its cooldown.
- Skill colours past 225, which nobody reached in the beta.

WoW Forever tailoring FAQ
How much cloth do I need for Tailoring 1-300 in WoW Forever?
The shopping list on this page adds it up from the path, with bolts broken down into cloth. Runecloth is the biggest line by far, so start saving it before 225.
Who teaches Artisan Tailoring?
Daryl Stack in Tarren Mill for the Horde and Timothy Worthington on Theramore Isle for the Alliance, at 200 skill and level 35.
What does the Faction Banner do?
It is Tailoring's first camp feature. Members of your faction sitting nearby get 32 Spirit; it does not stack with Divine Spirit.
How many crafts does Tailoring 1-300 take in WoW Forever?
About 365 by our estimate from the beta skill colours, in 25 steps. 8 of the steps need a recipe item instead of a trainer recipe. Luck on the yellow steps moves the number a little either way.
