Overview
Level 60 · Feral Combat Druid in battlegrounds and world PvP.
A Feral Druid in PvP is a shapeshifting bruiser: stealth openers in Cat Form, Bash and Feral Charge for control, and Nature’s Swiftness heals when a fight turns. The WoW Forever tree adds tools a Classic feral lacked: Feral Charge (Cat) leaps behind an enemy and dazes them, King of the Jungle makes Tiger’s Fury grant 60 Energy instantly, Rend and Tear adds 10% damage against bleeding targets, and Mangle gives cats a strong combo builder. Shapeshifting still frees you from roots and snares.
Your role in a fight
In battlegrounds, you are a flag carrier, an assassin and a helper. Feral Swiftness and Travel Form make you fast, shifting breaks snares, and Bear Form lets you survive while carrying. When not carrying, stalk enemy healers in stealth. In world PvP, Prowl lets you choose your fights.
Darkspear Islands
Blizzard’s Darkspear Islands battleground mixes control points with Arathi Basin-style flag captures and defense in a 15 vs 15 format. A fast, hard-to-snare druid suits flag runs and point scouting: Prowl up to a quiet point to see how many defenders it has, and take the flag when your team clears the way. Feral Charge in Bear Form interrupts an enemy trying to capture. How its flags work in detail is not known yet.
Honor and ranks: WoW Forever is reported to bring a 14-rank Honor track, earned from battlegrounds and PvP content. Thresholds, weekly caps and decay are not announced; see the PvP and honor hub for what is confirmed.
Strengths
- Mobility: Feral Swiftness, Travel Form, Feral Charge in both forms, and shifting to remove snares.
- Stealth openers: Pounce and Ravage, with Brutal Impact adding stun time.
- Burst from Energy: King of the Jungle makes Tiger’s Fury a 60 Energy refill.
- Self-healing: Nature’s Swiftness into Healing Touch, then back to Cat Form.
Weak points
- Mana while shifting: too many shifts leave you without a heal.
- Fear and Polymorph in caster form stop you from healing.
- Burst depends on openers: out of stealth, rogues and warriors often out-damage you.
- PvP at 60 is untested: the beta cap is 30 and the honor rewards are not confirmed.

Key abilities
- Pounce or Ravage from Prowl, then Tiger’s Fury with King of the Jungle for extra combo builders.
- Rake, Mangle and Shred into Rip or Ferocious Bite; Rend and Tear rewards keeping Rake up.
- Feral Charge: Cat version to leap behind and daze, Bear version to interrupt a cast.
- Bash: a stun on a short cooldown thanks to Brutal Impact.
- Nature’s Swiftness + Healing Touch: an instant big heal, then shift back.
- Shapeshifting: breaks roots and snares, including Frost Nova and Hamstring.
- Innervate and Rebirth: team utility between fights.
Matchups
- Warriors · kite with Feral Charge and shifting, stun with Bash and bleed them; avoid long melee trades.
- Rogues · whoever opens first usually wins; Bear Form and Barkskin survive their burst.
- Mages · shift out of Frost Nova and slows, and use Feral Charge (Bear) to interrupt their casts.
- Priests · bleed them and interrupt heals with Feral Charge; Psychic Scream is your main danger.
- Warlocks · Fear breaks your plan, so bait it before committing Tiger’s Fury.
- Hunters · Feral Charge through their dead zone and stay behind them.
Resources and cooldowns
Energy and combo points are your fight resources; mana is your safety net. Every shift costs mana, so leave enough for one Nature’s Swiftness heal and a shift back. Tiger’s Fury with King of the Jungle is your Energy cooldown, best right after an opener. The Tier 1 Grovekeeper Ferocity 5-piece in the datamine shortens Tiger’s Fury, and its 3-piece makes Hibernate castable in Cat Form, which could matter in PvP against other druids.
Gear
The datamine still lists the Classic druid PvP sets. The rare Champion’s and Lieutenant Commander’s Wildhide give up to 23 spell damage and healing at 2 pieces, 15% faster movement in Bear, Cat and Travel Form outdoors at 4, and +20 Stamina at 6. The epic Warlord’s and Field Marshal’s sets come as Wildhide (spell damage) and Refuge (healing), with +20 Stamina at 2 pieces and the outdoor form speed bonus at 3. Whether WoW Forever’s honor track awards these exact sets is not confirmed. A cat druid gets the most from the 4-piece form speed bonus on the rare sets and the 3-piece bonus on the epic ones; the spell damage bonus matters only for Nature’s Swiftness heals. Most PvP druids stay in feral gear and carry a healing off-set only if bag space allows. Stamina and Agility come first, then Strength and hit.
Consumables and engineering
- Free Action Potion for stuns, since shapeshifting breaks roots and snares but not stuns.
- Major Healing Potion and Heavy Runecloth Bandages so you save mana for a Nature’s Swiftness heal.
- Swiftness Potion on a flag run when you are being chased.
- Engineering: nets and grenades give a cat a way to stop a runner or peel an attacker.
