WoW Forever Leatherworking Leveling Guide: 1 to 300
Leatherworking got the biggest recipe list in Forever, more than 500 counting the ones it took over from Blacksmithing. That is a lot of choice, but the client also moved many skill ranges, so plenty of familiar Classic recipes now go grey sooner. The path below sticks to what still gives points and shows every hide you will cure.
Checked against the final beta datamine, build 1.60.1.70532, on . Overview and perks:Leatherworking page; every recipe: Leatherworking recipes.

What Forever changes for Leatherworking
- Datamined Six Classic Blacksmithing mail recipes are Leatherworking recipes in Forever, including Helm of the Great Chief, Invulnerable Mail and Storm Gauntlets. Daybreak Forever datamine
- Datamined Forceful armor kits are new: they add attack power to a piece of armor and take an elixir and dust as well as a base kit. Daybreak Forever datamine
- Datamined Camping 101: Leatherworking sends you to a trainer for the Camp Tent. The Dun Morogh version names Gretta Finespindle in Ironforge. Daybreak Forever datamine
- Reported The beta stopped characters at level 30, so nobody could train Artisan or test anything past 225 skill. Everything above 225 is untested in Forever. wow-professions.com
- Datamined A Leatherworking Certification costs 1,000 Merchant's Favor. Using it unlocks the title "the Leatherworker" for every character on your account, but a character needs 300 Leatherworking to show it. Daybreak Forever datamine

- Datamined Sewing Machine: a station some recipes require, powered by an Undeath Engine. Daybreak Forever datamine
Every camp feature needs a campfire nearby and they all share one 60-minute cooldown. Power spikes while leveling covers which camp buffs matter most.

How this path is built
- Every recipe, reagent and skill colour comes from the Leatherworking data in the beta client, so the path follows Forever's thresholds, not Classic's.
- A program tries every recipe at every skill point and keeps the chain that uses the fewest raw materials. Crafted parts are broken down into what they are made of; finished goods and scarce drops count extra.
- Trainer recipes win over recipe items, and recipe items that are new in Forever count extra because nobody has confirmed where they come from.
- The client does not say when a trainer recipe can be learned, so we count such a recipe from the skill where it turns yellow. You can often learn it a little earlier.
- Camp features, cooldown crafts such as transmutes, faction-only recipes and recipes with rare reagents are left out.
Still unknown
- Where most of the new Leatherworking patterns are sold or drop.
- What the Tanning Rack makes.
- Whether the three Classic specializations return unchanged.

WoW Forever leatherworking FAQ
Where do I learn Expert and Artisan Leatherworking in WoW Forever?
Expert from Una in Thunder Bluff or Telonis in Darnassus at 125 skill and level 20. Artisan from Hahrana Ironhide in Feralas or Drakk Stonehand in The Hinterlands at 200 skill and level 35.
Why does my Classic leatherworking route stop giving points?
Forever moved many skill ranges. Testers found most Classic recipes turn grey about 25 points sooner, so the path here is built from Forever's own thresholds.
What does the Camp Tent do?
It tops up the rested experience of everyone sitting at your camp to 5% of a level.
How many crafts does Leatherworking 1-300 take in WoW Forever?
About 374 by our estimate from the beta skill colours, in 23 steps. 15 of the steps need a recipe item instead of a trainer recipe. Luck on the yellow steps moves the number a little either way.
