Details! Damage Meter for WoW Forever
Details! is the damage meter most Classic groups use. It tells you what your damage per second actually is, where your healing went and, more usefully than either, what killed you.

What Details! Damage Meter does
- Tracks damage, healing, threat and deaths for everyone in your group, live.
- Records each fight separately so you can compare pulls instead of guessing.
- Breaks a death down into the last hits taken, which is how you find out whether you died to the boss or to a patrol.
- Shows a spell-by-spell breakdown when you click a name, so you can see which ability is carrying your damage.
How to install it
- Download the addon from one of the official pages above.
- Close the game, including the Battle.net launcher. Addons are read at startup.
- Unzip the download. Inside you get the folders
Details,Details_Streamer,Details_Compare2. - Move them into your WoW Forever install under
Interface/AddOns. Do not nest a folder inside a folder of the same name — that is the most common reason an addon does not show up. - Start the game. On the character select screen, open AddOns and make sure it is ticked.
If it still does not appear, tick "Load out of date AddOns" in that list: a Classic build can be marked for an older interface version than the Forever client reports.
Set it up before you level
- Shrink the window. The default size covers a third of the screen and you only need the top few rows.
- Set it to 'Current fight' rather than 'Overall' while levelling, or the numbers blur together across a whole session.
- Turn off the death graph popup if you find it distracting mid-pull.

Details! Damage Meter in WoW Forever
Status: Forever brings new abilities and talent changes, so a meter is the quickest way to see how your new talents actually perform.
- A meter only reads the combat log, so it works with new content without needing a content update — the spells it sees are whatever the client reports.
- Blizzard has said addons that do calculations in combat are affected by the addon limits coming to Forever. What that means for meters is not public yet.
Hitting crashes or a frozen client in the beta instead? That is a graphics setting, not an addon: see the beta crash fixes.
Addons that pair with it
- ThreatClassic2A simple threat meter: shows who is closest to pulling aggro from the tank, so damage dealers know when to slow down.
- QuestiePuts quest givers, objectives and turn-ins on your map and minimap, adds a quest tracker and shows which quests are available around you. The most used quest helper in Classic.
- Leatrix PlusA long list of optional interface tweaks: auto-repair and selling junk, faster looting, hiding clutter, a larger quest log and more. Nothing is switched on until you pick it.
- TomTomShows your coordinates and lets you set waypoints with /way, with an arrow that points to the next one. Many guides and other addons use it.
- Deadly Boss Mods (DBM)Warns you about boss abilities with timers, on-screen alerts and sounds. Install the core addon plus the Vanilla module for Classic dungeons and raids.
- WeakAurasLets you build your own on-screen icons, bars and text for buffs, debuffs, cooldowns and resources, or import ready-made setups shared by other players.
Details! Damage Meter FAQ
Does a damage meter slow the game down?
Details! is heavier than a minimal meter because it stores every fight. If your framerate suffers in a raid, reduce the number of fights it keeps in memory.
Can other players see my meter?
No. Everyone runs their own copy and reads their own combat log. Numbers differ between players because their logs start at different moments.
