WeakAuras for WoW Forever
WeakAuras shows you one thing at a time: the buff that is about to fall off, the cooldown that is ready, the proc you keep missing. It is a blank canvas, which is why it is both the most powerful addon in WoW and the one most likely to swallow an evening.

Download WeakAuras
WeakAuras_Vanilla.toc in the official repository. Addons are free: Blizzard's UI Add-On Development Policy requires it. If a site asks you to pay, or hands you an .exe instead of a folder, close the page.
What WeakAuras does
- Displays an icon, bar or text when a condition you set is true: a buff missing, a cooldown ready, a debuff on your target.
- Puts those displays where you look — usually just above the character — instead of in the default buff bar in the corner.
- Imports strings other players share, so you can install someone else's setup without building anything.
- Groups displays so a whole class setup turns on and off together.
How to install it
- Download the addon from one of the official pages above.
- Close the game, including the Battle.net launcher. Addons are read at startup.
- Unzip the download. Inside you get the folders
WeakAuras,WeakAurasOptions,WeakAurasModelPaths,WeakAurasTemplates. - Move them into your WoW Forever install under
Interface/AddOns. Do not nest a folder inside a folder of the same name — that is the most common reason an addon does not show up. - Start the game. On the character select screen, open AddOns and make sure it is ticked.
If it still does not appear, tick "Load out of date AddOns" in that list: a Classic build can be marked for an older interface version than the Forever client reports.
Set it up before you level
- Import a levelling pack for your class before you build anything yourself.
- Move the group to the centre of the screen, slightly above your character. An aura you do not see is an aura that does nothing.
- Delete what you do not use. Twenty auras firing at once is the same as none.

WeakAuras in WoW Forever
Status: Class changes in Forever mean older Classic imports may track the wrong spells. Check any import before you trust it.
- Auras built on Classic spell IDs keep working for any spell that is unchanged in Forever. Talents and abilities that Forever reworks need new IDs, so imported Classic packs will have gaps.
- This is the addon category Blizzard's in-combat addon limits describe most directly: displays that do calculations during combat. Blizzard has not listed what is restricted.

Addons that pair with it
- QuestiePuts quest givers, objectives and turn-ins on your map and minimap, adds a quest tracker and shows which quests are available around you. The most used quest helper in Classic.
- Leatrix PlusA long list of optional interface tweaks: auto-repair and selling junk, faster looting, hiding clutter, a larger quest log and more. Nothing is switched on until you pick it.
- TomTomShows your coordinates and lets you set waypoints with /way, with an arrow that points to the next one. Many guides and other addons use it.
- Details! Damage MeterRecords damage, healing, interrupts and deaths per fight and shows them in compact bars, with a detailed breakdown per player and spell.
- Deadly Boss Mods (DBM)Warns you about boss abilities with timers, on-screen alerts and sounds. Install the core addon plus the Vanilla module for Classic dungeons and raids.
- AuctionatorAdds shopping lists, quick price scans and faster selling and cancelling to the auction house, and shows auction prices in item tooltips.

Do I need to learn to build auras?
No. Most players import a pack for their class and move it where they want it. Building your own is optional.
Will my Classic auras work in Forever?
The ones based on spells Forever did not change should. Anything tied to a reworked talent or a new ability needs updating.
