Theorycrafted before the WoW Forever beta (September 17, 2026). The leveling plan follows the proven Classic leveling builds, the talents use the pre-release WoW Forever trees on this site, and ability levels quoted from Classic may differ in Forever. Expect updates once the beta is testable.

Overview

Levels 1–30 · Fury Warrior, solo questing and grinding.

The first 20 talent points in Arms are mostly setup for later, while the first Fury points are raw power: Cruelty is the biggest damage talent a low-level Warrior can take. That is why the Classic guides suggest opening in Fury and respeccing to Arms around level 30, once a respec is cheap and Sweeping Strikes is in reach. WoW Forever makes the early Fury tree even better for this: Unbridled Wrath now gives up to a 40% chance for an extra Rage point per hit, which fixes the empty-Rage feeling of early levels, and Death Wish sits in reach at level 30. Levels 1 to 9 have no talents, so the first part of this guide is simply how to fight before your first point.

Why this build

  • Cruelty from level 10 means 5% more crits in the levels where you have almost no gear crit at all.
  • Rage stops being the problem. Unbridled Wrath at 15–19 fills the bar on every swing, so Heroic Strike and Rend stop competing.
  • Enrage turns the crits mobs land on you into 25% more damage for your next swings, which shortens fights against elites and pairs.
  • Death Wish at 30 gives 20% more Physical damage for 30 sec and fear immunity: an emergency button for bad pulls.

Weak spots

  • No Sweeping Strikes. Two-mob pulls take longer than for an Arms Warrior at the same level, which is the main reason to respec at 30.
  • Burstier and less predictable. Enrage and Blood Craze only trigger when mobs crit you, so damage and recovery vary between fights.
  • Death Wish raises damage taken by 5%. Use it to finish a pull you control, not when you are already losing.

Talent order by level

One point per level from level 10 to 30. The talent tree above shows the finished level 30 build; use the level slider to see it at any level.

  • Levels 10–14 · Cruelty 5/5 — Up to +5% melee critical strike chance: the best damage talent a low-level Warrior can take.
  • Levels 15–19 · Unbridled Wrath 5/5 — Up to a 40% chance for an extra Rage point on every weapon hit, so your early Rage bar actually fills.
  • Level 20 · Piercing Howl 1/1 — Dazes all nearby enemies for 6 sec: stops runners and makes adds easy to walk away from.
  • Levels 21–23 · Blood Craze 3/3 — Regenerate 3% of your health over 6 sec after a mob crits you: a little less eating between pulls.
  • Level 24 · Booming Voice 1/5 — Longer Battle Shout and Demoralizing Shout, so you spend less Rage rebuffing. One point fills out the row.
  • Levels 25–29 · Enrage 5/5 — 25% more melee damage for 12 sec or 12 swings after a mob crits you. Long fights and elites trigger it the most.
  • Level 30 · Death Wish 1/1 — +20% Physical damage and fear immunity for 30 sec, at the cost of 5% more damage taken. Your cooldown for elites and bad pulls.

Key levels

  • Level 4 · Charge and Rend: charge every pull and Rend anything that lives long enough.
  • Level 10 · First talent point into Cruelty, plus the Defensive Stance quest and Sunder Armor.
  • Level 12 · Overpower. Use it on every dodge.
  • Level 20 · Piercing Howl from talents and Cleave from the trainer.
  • Level 24 · Execute: keep Rage for it as the mob drops below 20% health.
  • Level 25 · Enrage starts: crits against you now power up your next swings.
  • Level 30 · Death Wish, the Berserker Stance quest and the Whirlwind Weapon quest. Decide here whether to respec into Arms.

How to pull and kill

  1. Levels 1–9: Charge, Rend, then auto attack and Heroic Strike when you have spare Rage. Eat between fights instead of pulling at half health.
  2. Open with Charge in Battle Stance and put Rend on anything that lives more than 10 sec. Battle Shout before the pull if it is not up.
  3. Spend Rage in this order: Overpower after a dodge, Execute below 20% health, Heroic Strike as the Rage dump. With Unbridled Wrath you will cap Rage on long fights, so do not sit on it.
  4. Two mobs: Demoralizing Shout and Cleave from 20, and let Enrage and Blood Craze work in your favour when they crit you.
  5. Runners and adds: Hamstring a fleeing humanoid, and use Piercing Howl to slow everything nearby while you back away or finish your target.
  6. Death Wish when a pull turns into three mobs or you fight an elite, then finish with Execute. Retaliation (20) is still your panic button against several melee.

Leveling tips

  • Use a two-hander. Dual wielding before 30 misses too often; a slow two-handed weapon gives the biggest Heroic Strike and Overpower hits.
  • Take the respec at 30. The Icy Veins Warrior guide recommends exactly this path: Fury for Cruelty early, then Arms for Sweeping Strikes. The cost at 30 is low compared to the time saved on every two-mob pull.
  • First Aid and food matter more than any talent: a Warrior who rests less levels faster than one who kills a little faster.
  • Zones: Elwynn, Dun Morogh, Durotar or Mulgore to 10, then Westfall, Loch Modan, Darkshore or the Barrens to 20, and Redridge, Wetlands, Silverpine or Stonetalon to 30.
  • Dungeons with good Warrior rewards: The Deadmines (18–24) for Smite’s Mighty Hammer, Wailing Caverns (19–25) and Shadowfang Keep (23–29).
  • Skinning or Mining pays for weapon upgrades from the auction house, which do more for your leveling speed than a second crafting profession at this stage.

After level 30

At 30, respec and follow the Arms Warrior leveling guide from its level 30 build: Improved Rend and Deep Wounds, Improved Tactical Mastery into Anger Management, and Sweeping Strikes right away. If you prefer to stay Fury, the tree continues into Flurry and Bloodthirst at 40, but expect slower two-mob pulls than Arms.
