Overview
Level 60 · Fury Warrior in battlegrounds and world PvP.
Classic PvP Warriors rarely played Fury, because Mortal Strike’s healing reduction was worth more than dual-wield damage. The WoW Forever Fury tree gives it a better case than before. Bloodthirst now adds movement speed, Improved Intercept shortens your second gap closer, Death Wish makes you immune to fear, Improved Berserker Rage gives Rage when you break a fear, and Piercing Howl is still an instant area slow. The trade-off stays: no Mortal Strike. Pick this build if your team already has a Mortal Strike Warrior or if you fight mostly in the open world, where chasing matters more than healing reduction.
Your role in a fight
You are the chaser. Your job is to get to casters and flag carriers and stay on them. Charge, Hamstring, Intercept when they break free, Piercing Howl when they are in a group, and Bloodthirst to keep up. In team fights you add a second source of melee pressure next to an Arms Warrior or a Rogue rather than being the one who shuts down healing.
Darkspear Islands
The Darkspear Islands are a 15 vs 15 battleground with control points and Arathi Basin-style flag captures, according to Blizzard. Fury is at its best running between points: you can reach a point under attack quickly, stop a capture with Intercept and Piercing Howl, and chase whoever tries to leave. Stay mobile instead of sitting on one flag.
Honor and ranks: WoW Forever is reported to bring a 14-rank Honor track, earned from battlegrounds and PvP content. Thresholds, weekly caps and decay are not announced; see the PvP and honor hub for what is confirmed.
Strengths
- Mobility. Intercept more often, movement speed from Bloodthirst and an area slow make you hard to escape from.
- Fear immunity. Death Wish and Berserker Rage give you two answers to Warlocks and Priests.
- Steady damage. Two weapons and Flurry keep Rage and pressure up even without big crits.
Weak points
- No Mortal Strike. Healers outheal you unless someone else brings healing reduction.
- Death Wish raises damage taken, which is dangerous when you are the focus target.
- Lower burst per hit than a two-hander, so you kill slower through defensive cooldowns.
Level 60 PvP talent build
Arms 12 / Fury 39 / Protection 0, all 51 points. The talent tree above shows the finished build.
Fury (39)
- Cruelty 5/5 — crit for Flurry and Enrage.
- Iron Will 1/5 — a little stun resistance to reach the next tier.
- Unbridled Wrath 5/5 — Rage from swings, so you are not waiting to be hit before you can Hamstring.
- Piercing Howl 1/1 — instant area slow for escorts and groups.
- Blood Craze 3/3 — health back after enemy crits.
- Dual Wield Specialization 5/5 — better off-hand damage for steady pressure.
- Enrage 5/5 — a damage boost after enemy crits, common in PvP.
- Precision 3/3 — hit so Hamstring and Pummel do not miss.
- Death Wish 1/1 — burst and fear immunity in one button.
- Improved Intercept 2/2 — your second gap closer comes back sooner.
- Improved Berserker Rage 2/2 — Rage when you use Berserker Rage, which you press to break fears anyway.
- Flurry 5/5 — attack speed after crits.
- Bloodthirst 1/1 — strike plus movement speed for chasing.
Arms (12)
- Deflection 2/5 — parries against the Rogues and Warriors who try to burst you during Death Wish.
- Improved Rend 3/3 — a Rend keeps stealth classes in combat; three points for the path to Deep Wounds.
- Improved Tactical Mastery 5/5 — keeps Rage for stance swaps to Defensive Stance for Disarm and back.
- Anger Management 1/1 — Rage while kited.
- Deep Wounds 1/3 — one point for a bleed on crits.
Key abilities
- Intercept (Berserker Stance) with Improved Intercept: your main tool once combat starts.
- Hamstring on every target that can run; Piercing Howl on groups.
- Bloodthirst for damage and the speed boost while chasing.
- Death Wish when you commit to a kill, not while you are being focused.
- Berserker Rage to break fear and gain Rage.
- Pummel on healers’ big heals, and Disarm from Defensive Stance against melee burst.
Matchups
- Mage · Wait out Frost Nova, then Intercept after Blink. Bloodthirst’s speed helps you close again.
- Hunter · Stay inside their minimum range; Piercing Howl the Hunter and pet together.
- Warlock · Death Wish or Berserker Rage before the fear, then stay glued to them.
- Priest · Pummel heals, Berserker Rage the Psychic Scream, and switch if their team peels you.
- Rogue · Rend and Hamstring early; Disarm during Adrenaline Rush or Blade Flurry.
- Druid · Travel Form outruns slows; save Intercept for when they shift back to heal.
- Paladin · Blessing of Freedom removes your slows. Hit hard after Divine Shield, and Pummel their heals.
- Warrior · An Arms Warrior with Mortal Strike wins long fights; Disarm their burst and keep them Hamstrung.
- Shaman · Kill Earthbind and Grounding totems, Pummel heals and stay out of Frost Shock chains by using Intercept.
Resources and cooldowns
You gain Rage from swings with two weapons, so Fury recovers Rage faster than Arms after being kited. Spend it on control before damage: Hamstring, Piercing Howl and Pummel win more fights than a Heroic Strike. Keep enough Rage for Intercept when you swap to Berserker Stance, and let Improved Berserker Rage refill you after a fear.
Gear
The datamine’s Warrior PvP sets, Champion’s Battlegear and Lieutenant Commander’s Battlegear, give +40 Attack Power at 2 pieces, 5 sec off Intercept at 4 and +20 Stamina at 6. The Intercept bonus stacks well with Improved Intercept in this build. How PvP gear is earned in Forever is not announced. Until then, look for Stamina, hit and two weapons of similar speed; a slow main hand still gives the biggest Bloodthirst and Heroic Strike hits.
Consumables and engineering
- Free Action Potion against Mages and Hunters.
- Swiftness Potion for flag chases.
- Restorative Potion to clear a harmful debuff, if Forever keeps it.
- Engineering: Goblin Rocket Boots and grenades; the net projector is the answer to a Mage who Blinked away.
