Consecration is flickering in the WoW Forever beta: ticks drop to 1-2 damage and tanks lose their threat
Consecration in WoW Forever only hits the first four enemies at full strength by design. Beta testers found something else on top of that: the damage drops to almost nothing when a mob walks in from the edge, even when it is the only mob in the circle. Paladin tanks say that costs them most of their area threat, and bug reports are in.

New spell ranks don't jump onto your bars in WoW Forever, and casters are arguing about the scaling behind it
Train a new rank in the WoW Forever beta and your action bar keeps the old one, so players are asking for a toggle that always puts the highest rank on the bar. Pet bars already update on their own. The macro workaround is to cast by name. Behind the small annoyance is a bigger argument: Forever's new caster scaling makes gear matter more and ranks matter less, and an 88-reply thread says it flattens power spikes and hits hybrid healing.

WoW Forever beta build 69977 is live: Mac and controller fixes, and a name lockout that took a realm restart
The WoW Forever beta moved from build 69913 to 1.60.1.69977 late on September 22. Kaivax listed fixes for Mac display and stability problems, controller navigation on the character selection screen, and interacting with quest items on a gamepad, plus other fixes that testers cannot see in game. The next full weekly update is set for September 24. Separately, testers stuck on 'Character with that name already exists' got their characters back after Blizzard restarted the beta realms.

An axe that mines ore and a sword for battle mages: WoW Forever's rule-breaking loot is showing up in dungeons
Now that testers have reached the level 20 cap, the items that make WoW Forever different from a remake are being found. An axe from the Deadmines mines ore 30 times without the mining skill, which frees up a profession slot. The Coldflame Saber in Shadowfang Keep makes melee attacks burn frozen targets, so a mage can fight in melee. A Cozy Sleeping Bag gives a 3% XP buff that stacks with cooking's 5%. Blizzard deliberately kept many items out of the datamined files.

Orc Mages, Undead Paladins and Dwarf Shamans: WoW Forever's new race and class combinations are official
Blizzard's race and class post for WoW Forever confirms six combinations that Classic never allowed: Orc Mage, Troll Warlock, Undead Paladin, Human Hunter, Gnome Priest and Dwarf Shaman. The Skyborne join as a new race, with Horde Windshapers able to be Shaman and Alliance High Order able to be Mage. Nine classes are available, and several racial traits have been updated so they fit the wider class options while keeping each race's identity.

Meet the Skyborne: Zephras Isle, wind spirits and thousands of customization options
The Skyborne, also called the shen'dorei or hidden people, are Highborne exiles who made a pact with wind spirits and built a home in Skywall. Their starting zone, Zephras Isle, covers levels 1 to 12 and opens with the air spirits gone and the community divided. Horde Windshapers can be Shaman, Alliance High Order can be Mage, and both can be Warrior, Hunter, Rogue or Druid with race-specific druid forms. Customization runs to thousands of combinations, with feathers, tattoos and a unique dance.

'All 27 talent trees are viable': WoW Forever's devs on raids every patch, Onyxia at 40 and a new continuity
In a Windows Central interview, lead game designer Tim Jones says all 27 of WoW Forever's talent trees are viable for all content, so Ret Paladins and other Classic dead ends are playable. Blizzard plans 10 and 20 player content every patch, with Onyxia as the 40-player raid, and wants prepared groups to succeed rather than wipe a hundred times. Forever is a new continuity in an adjacent timeline, and the team is open to new zones built for mid levels.

WoW Forever camping: every profession builds a camp feature, and the buffs stand in for raid buffs
Camping turns a campfire into a small base: each profession can build three camp features, from a Mana Well to a Master Forge. Their buffs are exclusive with raid buffs like Blessing of Kings and Mark of the Wild, so a solo player can finally get them. Every camp feature shares one 60-minute cooldown.

WoW Forever storage and loot: a bank of around 96 slots, a reagent bag, and item stats hidden until they drop
WoW Forever starts you with a much bigger bank: Josh Greenfield guessed about 96 slots, two to four times the old size. Bags stay at their original sizes, but a fifth slot takes a reagent bag. Blizzard is also hiding every item's stats until it first drops on your server, so nobody starts the first raid with a best-in-slot list. Hundreds of gear effects are tied to places or enemy types, and some downtime is being kept on purpose so players talk to each other.

Auto Shot with no wind-up and wands that fire on the move: why WoW Forever kiting feels 'too easy'
Hunters and wand users in the WoW Forever beta report that ranged auto-attacks no longer have a wind-up: the shot fires the moment you stop, gated only by the swing timer. That makes kiting close to free, and an EU thread calls it too easy. Melee attacks now reset the ranged swing timer, which ends melee weaving. Wands are also hitting hard, and one thread calls wand priests the strongest spec in the beta. Blizzard has not commented.

WoW Forever's character panel now explains your stats, and missed loot turns up in your mailbox
Two small quality-of-life changes in the WoW Forever beta. The character window has been rebuilt, and hovering over a stat now shows what it does. Most gear now has one Critical Strike stat instead of separate melee and spell crit, and haste is not on any beta gear yet. Players also report loot arriving by mail from the Postmaster when they could not loot a corpse, although quest items are not sent, which left some players stuck on a quest.
