A week of Skyborne: weak racials, a 361-reply thread to hide them, and players defending the lore
A week after WoW Forever revealed the Skyborne, the paid elf race sold in the $29.99 Skyborne Hero Pack, the beta forums are still arguing about them. The debate has moved from the price tag to the race itself: players say its racials are the weakest in the game, a thread asking for an option to hide them has passed 360 replies, and a lore defence thread argues the Skyborne have deeper Vanilla roots than critics think.

WoW Forever warriors lose rage on crits, and beta players call it an auto-attack simulator
Warrior rage in the WoW Forever beta has been normalised: it is worked out from weapon speed instead of damage dealt, and critical auto-attacks no longer pay a bonus. Beta testers measured roughly 7 to 9 rage per one-hander swing and 14 to 17 per two-hander, which makes abilities costing 15 to 30 rage slow to reach. The thread asking for crit rage back is one of the busiest class threads of the weekend.

WoW Forever's first beta patch: eight fixes already promised, and what players want next
Four days in, the WoW Forever beta is still on build 1.60.1.69913, the one it launched with. Blizzard's known-issues list already marks eight problems as fixed in the next build, from Waylaid Crates to Holy Strike ranks. Players heading into the first working week have their own list: addon settings that do not save, FPS drops in cities, the Mac client and hunter pets. Meanwhile, a wave of testers say they were removed from the beta for names and chat.

Our WoW Forever addon is out: talent guides, a dungeon quest helper and a free download
The addon we have been building alongside the site is out. It puts our talent guides straight into your talent window, opens a Dungeon Quest helper next to the group finder with the whole quest chain for every dungeon, and exports your character to the site in one line. Download the zip now; the CurseForge listing is in review.

WoW Forever beta moves leveling XP from dungeons to quests, and players say dungeon groups are breaking
WoW Forever beta testers say Blizzard has cut experience from dungeon mobs and moved much more of it into quests. One player reports 9 to 18 XP per elite in Ragefire Chasm, while quest rewards feel about 200% higher. Supporters say it stops dungeon spam leveling. Dungeon quests pay hugely in return: one player gained almost three levels from the Ruins of Lordaeron quests. Critics say groups now run each dungeon once, skip every pack they can and never come back.

WoW Forever on Xbox? Ion Hazzikostas says 'our focus remains PC', but gamepad support is already in the beta
Asked by Windows Central whether WoW Forever could come to Xbox or other consoles, game director Ion Hazzikostas said Blizzard's focus remains PC. But Forever will be the first version of WoW with native gamepad support, and he said its slower, pre-Haste combat suits a controller. The beta client already has a Gamepad UI marked alpha, with radial menus, quick-chat phrases and reticle targeting.

No patch notes, but WoW Forever's talents are changing: Restless Blades is out and a Black Lotus vendor is in
Beta testers are spotting changes Blizzard never announced. Restless Blades, shown at BlizzCon for Combat Rogues, has been replaced by Flawless Execution, which only makes Eviscerate cheaper. The datamine lists a new Affliction Warlock talent called Wrack. Players say a Protection Warrior talent that gave 10% Strength and Stamina now gives flat damage, and a vendor sells Black Lotus and Arcane Crystals. There are still no official patch notes.

WoW Forever beta class report: Paladin runs away with it, Warrior struggles, and the level 20 builds
Two days in, beta testers mostly agree on the extremes. Paladin is the class players call overtuned, and Warrior the one that feels furthest behind, with crits giving no bonus rage. Guide sites still rank Hunter as the easiest leveler. The complaints are specific: Enhancement's 30% Mental Quickness, a weak Lava Burst, weak Druid Wrath, Restless Blades gone from Combat, and a shorter Fear range for Warlocks. This roundup covers level 20 builds for every class.

Why the WoW Forever beta broke: one regional realm, a choking database and 'the craziest numbers in 17 years'
Senior game producer Tom Ellis has explained why the WoW Forever beta kept disconnecting players on day one. The beta runs on a small test environment with a single regional realm, which became the bottleneck. Slow loot and quest actions came from database tables that needed manual tuning, and the rolling restarts fixed empty maps that were eating server memory. Josh Greenfield called the turnout the craziest numbers he has seen in 17 years at Blizzard. Blizzard also added five new known issues.

First WoW Forever beta loot uncovered: a Barrens speed set, Rath'mael's shield and 14 hidden items
The WoW Forever client hides most new items behind withheld encryption keys, so their stats only show up once someone loots one. A day into the beta, 14 of them have appeared. Among them: the three-piece Blessing of Kalimdor set, whose 2-piece bonus gives 5% movement speed in the Barrens and Stonetalon; Mirror of Rath'mael from the new Ruins of Lordaeron dungeon; and a run of rares for levels 16–25, right at the beta's level 20 cap.

WoW Forever beta day two: players push back on mob tagging, easy leveling and surnames
A day into the WoW Forever beta, three topics dominate the official forums. A thread asking for retail-style shared mob tagging has more than 130 replies. Several threads say leveling feels too fast and too easy. The required two-part character name is the most-liked complaint of all. Blizzard has not answered any of them yet, and many players say starting-zone crowds will thin out as the beta goes on.

WoW Forever beta freezing your Mac or crashing your AMD driver? Players found a lighting fix
On the WoW Forever beta forums, Mac users on Apple silicon report the whole system freezing or rebooting when they enter the world, and some AMD Radeon owners see the driver crash on loading screens. The most common fix is to set Secondary Lighting to Fair before entering the world. Blizzard has not responded in those threads yet. EU players also report heavy lag, since the beta appears to run on North American servers.
