Alchemy turns herbs into potions, elixirs, flasks and transmutes. It was the consumables engine of every Classic raid, and WoW Forever adds a placeable Alchemy Lab for campsites.

Key milestones
- Transmute: Arcanite (skill 275) turns a Thorium Bar and an Arcane Crystal into an Arcanite Bar. The recipe is sold by Alchemist Pestlezugg in Gadgetzan and needs a Philosopher's Stone. Warcraft Wiki
- Flask of the Titans (skill 300) adds 400 maximum health for an hour, persists through death, and uses a Black Lotus. Warcraft Wiki
Leveling outline
- Level Herbalism alongside Alchemy from the start so herbs never block a skill-up.
- Visit the trainer at 50, 125 and 200 skill as soon as you meet the character level for the next stage.
- Craft recipes while they are orange or yellow; switch as soon as they turn green.
- Plan a trip to Gadgetzan before 275 for the Arcanite transmute.
Best pairing
Herbalism. Almost every alchemy recipe starts with herbs, so Herbalism removes most of the leveling cost.
Who benefits from Alchemy
- Raiders of every class: Flasks and elixirs are the largest personal throughput upgrade you can craft yourself.
- Healers and casters: Mana potions and caster elixirs are used every raid night, so self-supply saves the most gold.

- Arcanite Bars are a reagent in many level 60 recipes, which kept transmutes in steady demand. Warcraft Wiki
